Programming Guide for 1991 Cadillac DeVille Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming using a jumper wire connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) located under the driver’s side dashboard. You can program up to two remotes. All remotes must be programmed during the same session.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) The DLC is under the driver’s side dashboard. The connector has two rows of pins; cavities are not labeled on the vehicle, so refer to a diagram if needed. You will be using Cavity A (Ground) and Cavity G (Programming Trigger).
  • Step 2: Insert a Jumper Wire Connect a fused jumper wire between Cavity A and Cavity G. Within 2 seconds, the vehicle will cycle the door locks (lock and unlock), indicating it has entered programming mode.
  • Step 3: Program the First Remote Press any button on the first remote. The door locks will lock and unlock again to confirm successful programming.
  • Step 4: Program the Second Remote (if applicable) Within a few seconds, press any button on the second remote. The locks will cycle again to confirm that the second remote has also been programmed.
  • Step 5: Exit Programming Mode Remove the jumper wire from the DLC. Test each remote to verify that it operates the vehicle's keyless entry system.
