Keyless Entry Remote Programming Instructions – 1992 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming. All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any remotes not included will be erased from memory.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) underneath the driver’s side dashboard. The connector is rectangular with multiple cavities. Although the terminals are not labeled, you can identify the correct positions by referencing a standard 12-cavity DLC layout (viewed facing into the connector).
- Step 2: Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminal G to terminal A. Once connected, the vehicle will lock and unlock the doors within 2 seconds, confirming entry into programming mode.
- Step 3: On the first remote, press any button three times in a row. The door locks will cycle again to indicate successful programming.
- Step 4: If you have a second remote, press any button on it three times in succession. The locks will cycle once more to confirm it has also been programmed.
- Step 5: Once all remotes are programmed, remove the jumper wire from the DLC.
- Step 6: Test all remotes to verify correct operation of locking and unlocking functions.
