1993 Buick Century Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: Programming the keyless entry remote for the 1993 Buick Century requires using the green programming connector located in the trunk. Please follow the steps carefully to ensure the remote is programmed successfully.

  • Step 1: Locate the Green Programming Connector: Find the green programming connector located in the left-hand (LH) trunk area. You may need to pull back the trim to access the connector. The connector will have wires attached but will not be connected to anything else.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Jumper Wire: Prepare a jumper wire to connect the two terminals of the programming connector.
  • Step 3: Jump the Connector Terminals: Place the jumper wire into the connector, ensuring that it bridges the two terminals. This action will initiate the vehicle’s keyless entry system to enter programming mode.
  • Step 4: Activate Programming Mode: After the jumper wire is connected, the system will lock and unlock the doors and trunk lid. This is an indication that the programming mode has been successfully entered. Confirm that the trunk lid has activated before moving to the next step.
  • Step 5: Press a Button on the Remote: Press any button on the keyless entry remote once. The doors and trunk lid should lock and unlock automatically, signaling that the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 6: Program Additional Remotes: If you have more remotes to program, press a button on each remote one at a time. After each remote, the system will lock and unlock the doors and trunk lid, confirming that the remote has been programmed.
  • Step 7: Limit on Number of Remotes: Please note that only two keyless remotes can be programmed to the vehicle’s system. If you reach the limit, you will need to remove an existing remote before adding a new one.
  • Step 8: Exit Programming Mode: After all desired remotes are programmed, remove the jumper wire from the connector. This will exit the programming mode and prevent further programming until the process is repeated.
  • Step 9: Test the Remote: Test each programmed remote by pressing the button to ensure that the system locks and unlocks the doors and trunk lid properly. Confirm all keyless entry features work as expected.
  • Step 10: Final Verification: Verify that all keyless entry functions, such as locking, unlocking, and trunk release, operate smoothly with the programmed remote(s).
