Programming Guide for 1993 Buick Skylark Keyless Entry Remote Fob

(Onboard Programming Procedure)

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming for up to two remote transmitters. If you are adding a new remote, ensure that any existing fobs are also reprogrammed during the same session, as prior codes will be erased.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Open the trunk and locate the programming connector on the driver’s side (LH). → You may need to pull back the trunk trim to access it. → Look for a connector with black and white wires that is not connected to anything.
  • Step 2: Use a jumper wire to bridge the terminals in the programming connector. → Leave the jumper connected through Step 6.
  • Step 3: Once the jumper is in place, the door locks will automatically cycle (lock and unlock), confirming that the system is in programming mode.
  • Step 4: Press any button on the first remote. → The doors will lock and unlock again, indicating successful programming.
  • Step 5: If programming a second remote, press any button on that remote now. → The system will again cycle the locks to confirm successful recognition. Note: A maximum of two remotes can be programmed.
  • Step 6: Remove the jumper wire from the programming connector to exit programming mode.
  • Step 7: Test all remotes to ensure they function correctly.
