Keyless Entry Remote Programming Instructions – 1993 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight

Important Notice: This vehicle allows onboard programming of keyless entry remotes. All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any remotes not included will be erased from memory.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) beneath the driver’s side dashboard. It is a rectangular diagnostic port with 12 cavities arranged in two rows. While the terminals are not labeled, refer to a standard DLC layout when identifying the correct pins.
  • Step 2: Use a fused jumper wire to connect terminal G to terminal A. Once connected, the vehicle will automatically lock and unlock the doors within 2 seconds, indicating that it has entered programming mode.
  • Step 3: On the first remote, press any button three times in a row. The door locks will cycle again, confirming the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 4: If programming a second remote, press any button on the second remote three times in succession. The locks will cycle once more to confirm successful programming.
  • Step 5: After all remotes have been programmed, remove the jumper wire from the DLC.
  • Step 6: Test each remote to ensure proper function of locking and unlocking features.
