Important Notice: Programming the 1994 Buick Century keyless entry remote requires accessing the green programming connector in the trunk. Follow these detailed steps to successfully program your keyless entry remote.

  • Step 1: Locate the Green Programming Connector Find the green programming connector in the left-hand (LH) trunk area. You may need to pull back the trim to access it. The connector has wires leading to it, but it is not connected to anything else.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Jumper Wire Use a jumper wire to bridge the two terminals of the green programming connector.
  • Step 3: Jump the Connector Terminals Place the jumper wire into the connector, connecting the two terminals. This will activate the programming mode.
  • Step 4: Indication of Programming Mode Activation Once the jumper wire is connected, the system will lock and unlock the doors and trunk lid. This indicates that programming mode has been successfully entered. Ensure that the trunk lid has activated before proceeding to the next step.
  • Step 5: Program the First Remote Press any button on the keyless remote once. The doors and trunk lid should lock and unlock, confirming that the remote has been successfully programmed. Ensure the trunk lid has activated before moving forward.
  • Step 6: Program Additional Remotes (If Needed) To program additional remotes, repeat Step 5 for each remote. The system can accommodate a maximum of two keyless remotes.
  • Step 7: Maximum Limit of Remotes Note that a maximum of two keyless remotes can be programmed to the system. If more remotes need to be programmed, you will need to erase the old remotes before proceeding.
  • Step 8: Exit Programming Mode Once all desired remotes have been programmed, remove the jumper wire from the programming connector to exit the programming mode.
  • Step 9: Test All Programmed Remotes Test each remote to ensure the system locks and unlocks the doors and trunk lid properly. Verify that all keyless entry functions are working as expected.
