1994 Buick LeSabre Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 1994 Buick LeSabre allows for onboard programming of up to two keyless entry remote fobs using the OBDII Data Link Connector (DLC) under the dashboard. Follow the instructions carefully and ensure you identify the correct terminals before proceeding.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch and leave it in the OFF position.
- Step 2: Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) under the driver’s side dashboard. It is a 16-pin connector shaped wider at the top. Note that the cavities are not labeled, so refer to a diagram to identify terminals 4 and 8.
- Step 3: Verify that metal contacts are present in pins 4 and 8. Then connect them using a fused jumper wire. Do not remove the jumper until the procedure is complete.
- Step 4: Close all doors to ensure the vehicle enters programming mode properly.
- Step 5: Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine). The vehicle will automatically lock and unlock the doors to confirm that it has entered programming mode.
- Step 6: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. After about 15 seconds, the vehicle will lock and unlock the doors again to confirm successful programming. Then release the buttons.
- Step 7: If you have a second remote, repeat Step 6 within one minute to program it as well.
- Step 8: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the jumper wire from the DLC.
- Step 9: Test both remotes to ensure that they function correctly.
Additional Information: A maximum of two remote fobs can be programmed to the vehicle. This procedure only programs the remote fobs and does not apply to ignition key programming. Ensure remote batteries are functional before starting.
