1994 Buick Regal Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: This procedure will erase all previously programmed remotes. Any working remotes must be reprogrammed during the same session to remain functional.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Open the trunk and locate the programming connector wire on the right-hand (passenger) side of the trunk. You may need to pull back the trunk liner to find a black wire with a white stripe ending in a plastic connector with a single terminal.
  • Step 2: Ground the terminal by attaching it to an unpainted metal surface, such as a bolt or the trunk latch. Important: Leave the connector grounded for the entire programming process.
  • Step 3: Once grounded, the vehicle will automatically lock and unlock the doors, indicating that it has entered programming mode.
  • Step 4: Press any button on the first remote. The vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors once, confirming successful programming.
  • Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for each additional remote, including any existing ones. Note: Do not disconnect the ground between remote programming steps.
  • Step 6: After all remotes have been programmed, remove the ground connection from the programming wire to exit programming mode.
  • Step 7: Test each remote to confirm proper operation of lock and unlock functions.

Additional Tips: You may program up to two remotes during the same session. If the doors do not respond during programming, verify the ground connection and restart the process. Only remotes programmed during this session will remain active—any skipped remotes will be erased from memory.
