Programming Guide for 1994 Cadillac DeVille Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming of keyless entry remotes. The procedure involves grounding a specific wire located in the trunk and must be completed promptly. You may program up to two remotes during the same session. If the process is not completed within the time window, you must restart from the beginning.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start the engine). You must begin the programming steps within 30 seconds of grounding the wire or the process will need to be restarted.
  • Step 2: Access the Trunk Pull-Down Assembly Open the trunk and locate the black wire coming from the trunk pull-down motor assembly. Ground this wire to a clean, unpainted metal surface in the trunk. The door locks will cycle (lock and unlock) within a few seconds to indicate the vehicle has entered programming mode.
  • Step 3: Program Remote 1 Within 20 seconds of the locks cycling, press the UNLOCK button on Remote 1 two times. The locks will cycle again to confirm successful programming.
  • Step 4: Program Remote 2 Within 20 seconds, press the UNLOCK button on Remote 2 twice. The locks will lock and unlock again to confirm the second remote has been stored.
  • Step 5: If You Only Have One Remote If you only have one remote, repeat Step 3 using the same remote in place of Remote 2. Both programming sequences must be completed, even with one remote, to avoid issues with system functionality.
