1995 BMW 3 Series – Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: The 1995 BMW 3 Series supports onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs. Follow the steps below carefully to ensure successful programming. You can program up to four remotes; older remotes will be overwritten if additional ones are added.

Programming Procedure:

• Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is unlocked, and all doors, the hood, and the trunk are closed.
• Step 2: Open the trunk lid and leave it open.
• Step 3: Open the driver’s door.
• Step 4: Sit inside the vehicle and close the driver’s door behind you.
• Step 5: Insert the key into the ignition. Steps 1 through 5 must be completed within 45 seconds.
• Step 6: Turn the key from the OFF position to the second position (just before starting the engine) five times in rapid succession, completing this step within 10 seconds. Do not start the engine.
• Step 7: Open the driver’s door.
• Step 8: Close the driver’s door again.
• Step 9: On the remote, press the large button once.
• Step 10: Press the small button once.
• Step 11: Press and hold the large button until the indicator light flashes once.
• Step 12: Press and hold the small button until the indicator light flashes once.
• Step 13: Repeat steps 9–12 for each additional remote you wish to program (up to four total).
• Step 14: When all remotes have been programmed, open the driver’s door.
• Step 15: Exit the vehicle and close the trunk lid.
• Step 16: Close the driver’s door to complete the programming process.
