1995 Cadillac DeVille

Programming Guide for 1995 Cadillac DeVille Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming for up to two remotes. You must complete the procedure within 30 seconds of grounding the programming wire, or the process will need to be restarted. Even if you have only one remote, you must perform the steps twice or the system may not retain the programming.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition to the ON position (dashboard lights on, but do not start the engine). Make sure all doors are closed, and leave the trunk open.
  • Step 2: Locate the Programming Wire Inside the trunk, locate the black wire coming from the trunk pull-down motor assembly. This wire is typically near the trunk latch or motor housing. It may be hanging loose or clipped to a nearby surface.
  • Step 3: Initiate Programming Mode Touch the exposed end of the black wire to a clean, unpainted metal surface in the trunk (this grounds the wire). Hold it there until you hear the door locks cycle (lock and unlock). This confirms the vehicle has entered programming mode. You now have 30 seconds to continue.
  • Step 4: Program Remote 1 Within 20 seconds of the locks cycling, take the first remote. Press the UNLOCK button twice in rapid succession. The door locks will lock and unlock again to confirm successful programming.
  • Step 5: Program Remote 2 (If Available) Within 20 seconds, press the UNLOCK button twice on the second remote. The locks will cycle again to confirm it has also been programmed.
  • Step 6: If Only One Remote is Available If you only have one remote, repeat Step 5 using the same remote. This is necessary so the system saves both remote slots and avoids errors.
  • Step 7: Exit Programming Mode Turn the ignition OFF. Remove the black wire from the ground point in the trunk. Close the trunk and doors.
  • Step 8: Test the Remotes Test each remote by pressing the lock and unlock buttons. Confirm that the vehicle responds properly to all programmed remotes.
