Programming Guide for 1995 Mazda 626 Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 1995 Mazda 626 supports on-board programming for remote key fobs. All remotes—including previously programmed ones—must be reprogrammed during the same session.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Remove the key from the ignition.
  • Step 2: Ensure all doors are fully closed.
  • Step 3: Open the driver's door and leave it open throughout the procedure.
  • Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (as far as it goes without starting the engine), then turn it OFF and remove the key.
  • Step 5: Repeat Step 4 two more times, for a total of three ON/OFF cycles, removing the key each time.
  • Step 6: Close the driver’s door, then open it again. Repeat this three times in total.
  • Step 7: Listen for a chime or buzzer, indicating the vehicle has entered programming mode. If no sound is heard, wait 40 seconds, then start over from Step 1.
  • Step 8: Program each remote (including previously programmed ones) by pressing any button on the remote twice. After each remote is recognized, a chime or buzzer should sound to confirm successful programming. You may program up to three remotes during this session.
  • Step 9: After all remotes have been programmed, wait 15 seconds or listen for a series of four chimes, confirming that the process is complete.
