Programming Guide for 1995 Mercury Mystique Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 1995 Mercury Mystique is equipped with a keyless entry system that supports onboard programming. This process uses a programming connector located behind the glove box and requires manual input through that connector. All remotes must be programmed during the same session.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and make sure all doors are closed securely.
- Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the RUN or ACC position without starting the engine.
- Step 3: Locate the programming connector, which is positioned behind the glove box. Carefully access it by opening or removing the glove box as needed.
- Step 4: Use a suitable jumper wire or paperclip to briefly connect the two terminals in the programming connector. Once connected, the vehicle’s horn will chirp, confirming that the system has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Within a few seconds, press any button on the first remote fob. The horn will chirp again, indicating successful programming.
- Step 6: Press any button on the second remote fob, if available. The horn will chirp once more to confirm that the second remote has been programmed.
- Step 7: After all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition to the OFF position.
- Step 8: The horn will emit one final chirp, signaling the end of the programming session.
- Step 9: Remove the jumper wire from the connector and reassemble the glove box if necessary.
- Step 10: Test each remote fob to ensure proper function of the lock and unlock features.
Additional Considerations: All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any remote not included will not operate the vehicle. Use caution when accessing the programming connector to avoid damaging wiring or interior components. Check the battery level in each remote before starting to prevent programming errors.
