Programming Guide for 1996 Mazda B-Series Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 1996 Mazda B-Series supports on-board programming for keyless entry remotes. Up to two remotes can be programmed in a single session. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure successful programming.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition.
  • Step 2: Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (just before the engine cranks) five times within 10 seconds, ending with the ignition in the RUN position. The door locks will cycle, confirming that the system has entered programming mode.
  • Step 3: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The door locks will cycle again, confirming the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 4: Within the next 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote (if applicable). The locks will cycle to confirm successful programming of the second remote.
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition to the OFF position. The door locks will cycle one final time, indicating the vehicle has exited programming mode.
