1996 Nissan 240SX – Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Note: All remotes must be programmed during the same session. If any previously programmed remote is not included in this session, it will no longer function.
Programming Steps:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and ensure all doors are securely closed. Use the driver’s side power lock switch to lock all doors.
- Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and remove it six times within 10 seconds, without turning it. The tail lamps will flash, indicating that the system has entered programming mode and all existing remote codes have been cleared.
- Step 3: Reinsert the key and turn it to the ACC (Accessory) position.
- Step 4: Press the LOCK button on the first remote fob. The tail lamps will flash, confirming that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 5: To program another remote, use the power lock switch to unlock and then relock the doors.
- Step 6: Press the LOCK button on the next remote. The tail lamps will flash again to indicate successful programming.
- Step 7: Once all remotes have been programmed, open the driver’s door and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position to exit programming mode.
