The port is rectangular with two rows of cavities and is wider across the top. Although it is not labeled, refer to a diagram to identify terminal 8 (top row, far left) and terminal 4 (bottom row, third from left). </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Use the jumper wire to connect terminal 8 to terminal 4. Leave the wire connected throughout the programming sequence. The vehicle will respond within a couple of seconds by automatically locking and unlocking the doors, signaling that it has entered programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Take the first remote and press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. Hold the buttons for approximately 15 seconds until the doors cycle (lock and unlock) again. This confirms successful programming of the remote. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: If you have additional remotes, repeat Step 3 within one minute for each additional remote you wish to program. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: After all remotes have been programmed, disconnect the jumper wire from the diagnostic port to exit programming mode.
