Programming Guide for 1997 Mazda B-Series Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 1997 Mazda B-Series supports on-board programming for keyless entry remotes. This process allows for programming up to two remotes during the same session.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition.
  • Step 2: Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (the position just before engine start) five times within 10 seconds, ending in the RUN position on the fifth cycle. The door locks will cycle, indicating that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
  • Step 3: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The door locks will cycle again to confirm that the remote has been programmed.
  • Step 4: Within the next 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote (if applicable). The locks will cycle to confirm successful programming of the second remote.
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition to the OFF position. The door locks will cycle one final time, confirming that the vehicle has exited programming mode.
