Important Notice: Before entering programming mode, make sure you have all the remotes you will be using with the vehicle. Once you program the remotes, all previously stored codes will be erased from the system. Any unprogrammed remotes will not function until reprogrammed.

Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Ensure All Vehicle Doors Are Closed Before starting, ensure that all doors on the vehicle are securely closed.
  • Step 2: Insert the Key into the Ignition Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position (just before the engine cranks, but the engine should not start).
  • Step 3: Turn the Ignition Off and Remove the Key Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and remove the key from the ignition.
  • Step 4: Press and Hold the Door Lock Switch Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the driver’s side door lock switch.
  • Step 5: Insert the Key into the Ignition Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder, but do not turn the key. Remove the key immediately.
  • Step 6: Repeat Step 5 Insert the key again into the ignition lock cylinder, but do not turn the key. Remove the key immediately after inserting it.
  • Step 7: Insert and Leave the Key in the Ignition Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder for a third time. Do not turn the key. Leave the key in the ignition.
  • Step 8: Release the Door Lock Switch Release the UNLOCK button on the door lock switch. You will hear three chimes, indicating that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
  • Step 9: Press and Hold the Lock and Unlock Buttons on the Remote Press both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the keyless entry remote simultaneously. Hold them for about 12 seconds. You will hear two chimes, confirming that the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 10: Program Additional Remotes (If Needed) To program additional remotes, repeat Step 9 for each remote. The system can accommodate up to four remotes.
  • Step 11: Exit Programming Mode Once all remotes are programmed, remove the key from the ignition lock cylinder. This will exit the programming mode.
  • Step 12: Verify All Remotes Are Programmed Test each keyless entry remote by pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons to ensure that the vehicle responds by locking and unlocking the doors.
  • Step 13: Test All Functions Make sure that all functions, such as the trunk release, work properly with each remote.
  • Step 14: Final Check for All Remotes Ensure that each programmed remote is fully operational and is capable of locking/unlocking the vehicle and releasing the trunk.
  • Step 15: Confirm Functionality After programming and testing, verify that all programmed remotes are functioning properly with all keyless entry features.
