Keyless Entry Remote Programming Instructions – 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming for remote key fobs. All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any remote not programmed during this process will be erased from memory.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Make sure all vehicle doors are closed before beginning.
  • Step 2: Insert the ignition key into the ignition, but do not turn it yet.
  • Step 3: On the driver’s door, press and hold the power UNLOCK button. Continue holding this button until instructed to release it in Step 9.
  • Step 4: Perform the following ignition steps quickly and in sequence:
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  • Step 6: Turn the ignition back to the OFF position.
  • Step 7: Turn the ignition to ON again.
  • Step 8: Turn the ignition back to OFF.
  • Step 9: Release the power UNLOCK button. The door locks will automatically lock and unlock, indicating the vehicle has entered programming mode.
  • Step 10: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. Continue holding until the doors lock and unlock, confirming successful programming. This may take up to 30 seconds.
  • Step 11: Repeat Step 10 for each additional remote, including any existing ones you wish to retain.
  • Step 12: Turn the ignition switch to the ON position to exit programming mode.
  • Step 13: Remove the key and test all remotes to ensure each one functions correctly.
