1999 Toyota Camry Solara Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: This model supports onboard programming for keyless entry remotes. Follow the instructions carefully and complete each step within the specified time to ensure successful programming.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Remove the key from the ignition. Open the driver's door and leave it open. Make sure all other doors are closed and the driver's door is unlocked.
  • Step 2: Insert and Remove Key Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn it), then remove it.
  • Step 3: Perform Lock/Unlock Cycles (Within 40 Seconds) A. Use the driver’s door power lock switch to perform five lock/unlock cycles, starting with the lock position. Maintain a steady rhythm—approximately one cycle per second. B. Close the driver's door, then reopen it.
  • Step 4: Repeat Lock/Unlock Cycles and Prepare Ignition (Within 40 Seconds) A. Again, perform five lock/unlock cycles using the power lock switch, starting with lock. B. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder. C. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine), then back to OFF. D. Repeat by turning the ignition to ON, then back to OFF once more. E. Remove the key from the ignition.
  • Step 5: Enter Programming Mode Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should automatically cycle (lock then unlock) once, confirming entry into programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, restart the process from Step 1.
  • Step 6: Program the Remote (Within 40 Seconds) A. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second, then release. B. Immediately press and hold the lock button alone for 2 seconds, then release. If successful, the door locks should cycle once. If the locks cycle twice, the remote was not accepted. Repeat steps A and B. C. Repeat steps A and B for any additional remotes to be programmed.
  • Step 7: Exit Programming Mode Close the driver's door to complete the procedure.
