Programming Guide for 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette supports on-board programming of remote key fobs using the BCM PRGRM fuse method. This procedure will erase all previously programmed remotes, so all remotes (new and existing) must be programmed during the same session.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 2: Open the front passenger door to access the fuse panel. Refer to the fuse box legend to locate and remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
- Step 3: Ensure that all vehicle doors and the liftgate are completely closed.
- Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ACC position (one click toward you, opposite of the engine start direction).
- Step 5: Within 1 second, turn the ignition to OFF, then back to ACC.
- Step 6: Open and close any door. A chime will sound to indicate that the system has entered programming mode.
- Step 7: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. After about 7 seconds, you may hear a chime confirming synchronization. Continue holding the buttons until a second chime sounds (approximately 14 seconds in total), confirming successful programming.
- Step 8: Repeat Step 7 for each additional remote you wish to program, including any that were previously in use.
- Step 9: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Step 10: Reinstall the BCM PRGRM fuse into the fuse panel.
- Step 11: Test each remote to verify that all functions operate correctly.
