2001 Buick Century Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important: Before beginning, ensure you have all remotes you wish to use. Once the programming mode is initiated, all existing remote codes will be erased. Any remotes not reprogrammed during this session will no longer function.
Step-by-Step Programming Guide:
- Step 1: Close all vehicle doors securely.
- Step 2: Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine).
- Step 3: Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the ignition.
- Step 4: Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the driver’s side door panel.
- Step 5: While holding the unlock button, insert the ignition key into the ignition cylinder and remove it without turning.
- Step 6: Insert the key again and remove it a second time—again, without turning it.
- Step 7: Insert the key a third time and leave it in the ignition (do not turn it).
- Step 8: Release the UNLOCK button on the door panel. The vehicle will chime three times, confirming that it has entered programming mode.
- Step 9: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously.
- Step 10: Continue holding both buttons for about 15 seconds until the vehicle emits two chimes, confirming successful programming of that remote.
- Step 11: Repeat Step 9 and Step 10 for any additional remotes, up to a maximum of four.
- Step 12: Once all remotes are programmed, remove the key from the ignition to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Test each remote by pressing LOCK and UNLOCK to ensure proper function.
- Step 14: Check other features such as trunk release or panic alarm (if equipped).
- Step 15: Store all remotes in a safe place and make note of which ones were successfully programmed.
