2001 Honda Odyssey – Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
EX Model with Factory Installed Keyless Entry System
Important Notes: This system supports up to three remotes. It uses stacking-type memory, meaning if a fourth remote is added, the oldest one will be erased. The remote must be aimed at the receiver unit near the glove box during programming. Each step must be completed within 4 seconds to keep the vehicle in programming mode.
Programming Procedure – EX Model:
- Step 1: Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position without starting the engine.
- Step 2: Within 4 seconds, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote. Make sure it is aimed at the glove box area.
- Step 3: Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position.
- Step 4: Repeat Steps 1–3 two more times using the same remote, for a total of three ignition cycles.
- Step 5: After the third cycle, turn the ignition to ON (II) again.
- Step 6: Within 4 seconds, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote. Wait for the door locks to cycle—this confirms that the vehicle has entered programming mode. Press the button again to complete programming of the first remote.
- Step 7: To program additional remotes, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each one within 10 seconds. The locks should cycle to confirm each remote has been accepted.
- Step 8: Turn the ignition to LOCK (0) to exit programming mode.
- Step 9: Test all remotes to ensure they function properly.
