<h1>Keyless Entry Remote Programming &ndash; 2001 Honda Prelude</h1> <p><font size="3"><b>System Type Notice:</b> The 2001 Honda Prelude may be equipped with either a Dealer-Installed or Factory-Installed keyless entry system. Please follow the correct set of instructions based on your vehicle&rsquo;s configuration. A. Dealer-Installed Keyless Entry System </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Important Notes:</b> Entering programming mode will erase all previously stored remotes. Be sure to program all remotes during the same session. Each step must be completed within 5 seconds of the previous step to remain in programming mode. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Programming Steps:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Insert the key and turn the ignition to the ON (II) position. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote. A previously unprogrammed remote may be used. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Turn the ignition to the OFF (0) position. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Repeat steps 1 through 3 two more times, for a total of three complete cycles using the same remote. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: After the third cycle, turn the ignition to the ON (II) position again. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote. The door locks should cycle, indicating that the system is now in programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each additional remote. The door locks should cycle after each one is successfully programmed. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Turn the ignition to the OFF (0) position to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Test each remote to confirm proper function. B. Factory-Installed Keyless Entry System </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>Important Notes:</b> This system can store a maximum of three remotes. If a fourth is programmed, the earliest one will be erased. Complete each step within 4 seconds of the previous step. The door locks should cycle to confirm you are in programming mode. Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button again to finalize this remote. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each additional remote you want to program.
