Programming Guide for 2001 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: Proper connection and following each step are critical to ensuring the keyless entry remote fob is successfully programmed. If the process does not work as expected, professional assistance may be required.
Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port located under the driver’s side dashboard, usually to the right of the steering column.
- Step 2: Insert the Keys into the Ignition Place the vehicle keys into the ignition and leave the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Step 3: Check Metal Contact Pins and Connect the Jumper Wire Ensure that there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 of the Data Port. Use an appropriate jumper wire to connect these terminals. Keep the jumper wire connected for the entire programming procedure. Be sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.
- Step 4: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times. At this point, the doors will lock and unlock automatically once, indicating that the system is in programming mode.
- Step 5: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to register three times within 10 seconds. If the programming is successful, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm.
- Step 6: Program Additional Remotes Repeat Step 5 for up to 4 remotes, including any existing remotes, within one minute. After each remote is successfully programmed, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm.
- Step 7: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once all remotes are programmed, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port.
- Step 8: Remove the Keys from the Ignition Finally, remove the keys from the ignition to complete the programming process.
