2001 Toyota Camry Solara Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming of keyless entry remotes. Please follow each step precisely and complete all actions within the recommended time limits.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Remove the key from the ignition. Open the driver’s door and leave it open. Ensure all other doors are closed, and the driver’s door is unlocked.
- Step 2: Insert and Remove the Key Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn it), then remove it.
- Step 3: Perform Initial Lock/Unlock Sequence (Within 40 Seconds) A. Using the driver’s door power lock switch, perform five lock/unlock cycles, starting with the lock position. Maintain a steady pace—approximately one cycle per second. B. Close the driver’s door, then reopen it.
- Step 4: Repeat Lock/Unlock Sequence and Use Ignition (Within 40 Seconds) A. Repeat five more lock/unlock cycles using the same switch, starting with lock. B. Insert the key into the ignition. C. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine), then turn it back to OFF. D. Turn the ignition to ON again, then back to OFF. E. Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 5: Enter Programming Mode Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle once (lock then unlock), confirming entry into programming mode. If the locks do not respond, restart the process from Step 1.
- Step 6: Program the Remote (Within 40 Seconds) A. Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second, then release. B. Immediately press and hold the lock button for 2 seconds, then release. If successful, the door locks will cycle once. If they cycle twice, the remote was not accepted. Repeat steps A and B. C. Repeat this step for each additional remote you want to program.
- Step 7: Exit Programming Mode Close the driver’s door to finalize the process.
