Important Notice: Before starting, have all remotes you intend to use with the vehicle. Once programming begins, all previously stored remote codes will be erased, and only remotes programmed during this session will function.
Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Ensure all vehicle doors are securely closed before beginning.
- Step 2: Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON position (as far as it will go without starting the engine).
- Step 3: Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the ignition.
- Step 4: Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the driver-side door panel.
- Step 5: While holding the unlock button, insert the ignition key into the ignition cylinder, then immediately remove it without turning.
- Step 6: Repeat Step 5 – insert and remove the key a second time without turning it.
- Step 7: Insert the key into the ignition a third time and leave it inserted. Do not turn the key.
- Step 8: Release the UNLOCK button. The vehicle should chime three times, indicating it has entered programming mode.
- Step 9: On the first remote fob, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously.
- Step 10: Hold the buttons for approximately 15 seconds until the vehicle chimes twice, confirming successful programming of the remote.
- Step 11: Repeat Steps 9 and 10 for each additional remote fob, up to a maximum of four remotes.
- Step 12: Once all remotes are programmed, remove the ignition key to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Test each remote by pressing LOCK and UNLOCK to confirm the vehicle responds.
- Step 14: If equipped, check that other remote functions such as trunk release or panic also work properly.
- Step 15: Store all remotes in a safe place and make note of which ones were programmed successfully.
