Programming Instructions for 2002 Mazda B-Series Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2002 Mazda B-Series supports on-board programming for keyless entry remotes. This process allows you to program up to two remotes in one session. Carefully follow each step for successful programming.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Ensure all doors are closed and the ignition is off.
  • Step 2: Open the driver’s door, press the UNLOCK button on the door panel, and leave the door open throughout the procedure.
  • Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition.
  • Step 4: Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN (the position just before engine start) eight times within 10 seconds, ending in the RUN position on the eighth turn. – If done correctly, the door locks will cycle, confirming the system has entered programming mode.
  • Step 5: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. – The door locks will cycle, indicating the remote has been successfully registered.
  • Step 6: Within the next 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote (if available). – The door locks will cycle again, confirming that the second remote is also programmed.
  • Step 7: Turn the ignition back to the OFF position. – The door locks will cycle one final time, indicating the vehicle has exited programming mode.
  • Step 8: Test all remotes to ensure each one locks and unlocks the doors as expected.
  • Step 9: If programming was unsuccessful, repeat the procedure from Step 1. Make sure all steps are completed within the designated time limits.
