Keyless Entry Remote Programming Instructions – 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora
Important Notice: The 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora does not support onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs. Remote programming requires a qualified professional with access to specialized diagnostic equipment.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider experienced in keyless entry systems and equipped with manufacturer-compatible diagnostic tools.
- Step 2: Confirm that the technician uses diagnostic software that can securely communicate with your vehicle’s onboard electronic control system to perform key fob registration.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is drivable, consider visiting the technician’s service location to reduce any additional fees associated with mobile service.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment ahead of time, and bring all existing key fobs. In many cases, all remotes must be reprogrammed during the same session to remain functional.
- Step 5: Upon arrival, the technician will connect a diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic (OBD) port, typically located beneath the dashboard on the driver’s side.
- Step 6: The technician will use the diagnostic tool to initiate the key fob programming sequence and pair the remote with your vehicle’s security system.
- Step 7: After programming, all remote functions—including locking, unlocking, trunk release, and panic—will be tested to verify successful operation.
- Step 8: Personally test each remote to confirm functionality before completing the session.
- Step 9: Keep spare remotes in a secure location, and consider programming an additional remote for convenience or emergency use.
