2003 Honda Odyssey – Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
EX Model with Factory Installed Keyless Entry System
Important Notes: The factory keyless entry system can store up to three remotes. Remotes are saved in a stacked memory system—if a fourth remote is programmed, the first one will be erased. Ensure the remote is aimed at the receiver located near the glove box. Each step must be completed within 4 seconds to avoid exiting programming mode.
Programming Procedure (EX Model)
- Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON (II) position. Do not start the engine.
- Step 2: Within 4 seconds, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on your remote. Make sure the remote is aimed directly at the glove box area.
- Step 3: Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (0) position.
- Step 4: Repeat Steps 1–3 two more times, using the same remote. This means a total of three ignition cycles.
- Step 5: After completing the third cycle, turn the ignition back to the ON (II) position.
- Step 6: Within 4 seconds, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote again. The door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) to confirm that the vehicle is now in programming mode. Press the button once more to store the remote.
- Step 7: For each additional remote, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button. The door locks should cycle again to confirm each one has been accepted.
- Step 8: When all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition to LOCK (0) to exit programming mode.
- Step 9: Test all remotes to verify that they function correctly.
