- Step 1: Locate the Data Port Locate the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, typically to the right of the steering column. This port is used to initiate the programming process.
- Step 2: Insert Keys into the Ignition Insert your working vehicle key into the ignition and leave it in the OFF position. This is the starting point for the programming procedure.
- Step 3: Check for Metal Contact Pins Ensure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 of the Data Port. These terminals must be connected to begin the programming process.
- Step 4: Connect the Jumper Wire Connect the jumper wire between terminals 1 and 4 in the Data Port. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the programming process. Be sure to identify and connect the correct terminals.
- Step 5: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times in quick succession. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, indicating that the system is now in programming mode.
- Step 6: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you want to register three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm that the remote has been registered.
- Step 7: Test the First Remote Before proceeding, test the first remote by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure it works properly with the vehicle. If it doesn’t work, repeat Step 6.
- Step 8: Program Additional Remotes If you have more remotes to program (up to 4 remotes total), repeat Step 6 within one minute for each additional remote. After programming each remote, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm successful registration.

- Step 10: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once all remotes have been successfully programmed, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port to exit programming mode.
