Programming Guide for 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette supports on-board programming of keyless entry remotes using the BCM PRGRM fuse method. This process will erase all previously stored remote codes, so all remotes must be programmed during the same session.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 2: Open the front passenger door to access the fuse panel. Use the diagram on the panel to locate and remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
- Step 3: Ensure all doors and the liftgate are completely closed.
- Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ACC position (one click toward you, opposite from the engine start direction).
- Step 5: Within 1 second, turn the ignition to OFF, then back to ACC.
- Step 6: Open and close any door. A chime will sound, indicating that the system has entered programming mode.
- Step 7: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. After about 7 seconds, a chime may sound to indicate the remote has synchronized. Continue holding the buttons for approximately 14 seconds total, until a second chime confirms successful programming.
- Step 8: Repeat Step 7 for each additional remote you wish to program. Be sure to include any previously working remotes, as they are also erased during this process.
- Step 9: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Step 10: Reinstall the BCM PRGRM fuse into the fuse panel.
- Step 11: Test each remote to ensure full functionality.
