2003 Subaru Impreza Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Note: You may program up to four remotes for your vehicle. Before beginning, ensure that all doors and the trunk or liftgate are fully closed and unlocked.
Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat. Confirm that all doors, including the trunk, are closed and unlocked.
- Step 2: Open the driver’s door, then close it once.
- Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it from the OFF to the ON position and back to OFF ten times rapidly. Do not start the engine—just turn the key until the dashboard lights come on. Complete all ten cycles within 15 seconds.
- Step 4: If completed successfully, the horn will beep once, indicating the vehicle has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door again.
- Step 6: Press any button on the first remote fob you wish to program. The horn will beep twice to confirm the remote was accepted.
- Step 7: To program additional remotes (up to four in total), repeat Step 5 and then press a button on each additional remote. The horn will beep twice after each successful registration.
- Step 8: When all remotes have been programmed, remove the key from the ignition. The horn will sound three times, indicating the vehicle has exited programming mode.
- Step 9: Wait approximately two minutes before testing each remote.
- Step 10: Press the Lock button to ensure the system locks the doors and activates the alarm.
- Step 11: Press the Unlock button once to disarm the alarm and unlock the driver’s door. Press it again to unlock all other doors and the trunk.
