Programming a 2003 Toyota Celica Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle does not support automatic on-board programming for keyless entry remote fobs. The procedure requires manual steps to be followed accurately.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Preparation Ensure all doors except the driver's door are closed, and the driver's door is open and unlocked. Begin with the key out of the ignition.
- Step 2: Initial Key Insertions (within 5 seconds) Insert the key into the ignition without turning it and then remove it. Repeat the insertion and removal of the key.
- Step 3: Door Handling Sequence (within 40 seconds) Close and then open the driver's door twice. Reinsert the key into the ignition and pull it out.
- Step 4: Comprehensive Key and Door Sequence (within 40 seconds) Close and open the driver's door twice more. Insert the key into the ignition and leave it there. Close the driver's door. Turn the ignition to ON (do not start the engine) and then turn it back to OFF. Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 5: Entering Programming Mode The power door locks should lock and then unlock automatically within 3 seconds, indicating successful entry into programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, restart from Step 1.
- Step 6: Remote Programming (within 40 seconds) Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds. Release both buttons, then immediately press and hold the lock button alone for 2 seconds. The door locks should cycle once to confirm successful programming; if they cycle twice, repeat the remote programming steps. Repeat this process for any additional remotes.
- Step 7: Exit Programming Open the driver's door to conclude the programming process.
Additional Considerations:
- Multiple Remotes: If programming additional remotes, ensure you repeat Step 6 for each device.
- Operational Testing: Test the remote to confirm it operates all functions as expected.
- Consultation: For assistance or detailed procedures, refer to the vehicle's owner’s manual or contact a professional service center.
