2004 Buick Century Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Note: Before starting the process, make sure you have all remote fobs you intend to use. Once programming mode is activated, any remotes not programmed during the session will no longer function.

Step-by-Step Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Ensure all vehicle doors are fully closed before beginning the procedure.
  • Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  • Step 3: Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Step 4: Press and hold the UNLOCK button on the driver’s door panel.
  • Step 5: While holding the unlock button, insert the key into the ignition and immediately remove it. Do not turn the key.
  • Step 6: Repeat the insertion and removal process a second time without turning the key.
  • Step 7: Insert the key into the ignition a third time and leave it in place. Do not turn it.
  • Step 8: Release the UNLOCK button. The vehicle should respond with three chimes, confirming entry into programming mode.
  • Step 9: On the first remote fob, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously.
  • Step 10: Hold both buttons for approximately 15 seconds until the vehicle responds with two chimes, indicating successful programming.
  • Step 11: Repeat Steps 9 and 10 for each additional remote, up to a maximum of four remotes.
  • Step 12: After programming all remotes, remove the ignition key to exit programming mode.
  • Step 13: Test each remote by pressing LOCK and UNLOCK to verify functionality.
  • Step 14: Confirm that any additional functions (such as trunk release or panic) are working properly.
  • Step 15: Store all remotes in a secure location and keep a record of the ones that were successfully programmed.
