2004 Cadillac CTS-V

Programming Guide for 2004 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – CTS-V

(No Onboard Programming Available)

Important Notice: The 2004 model does not support manual or onboard programming for remote fobs. Programming must be completed using specialized diagnostic equipment by a qualified technician. This ensures proper synchronization with the vehicle’s electronic control module.

Remote Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Confirm that no onboard programming is supported for this vehicle model year.
  • Step 2: Identify a certified automotive technician or dealer capable of handling keyless entry system programming.
  • Step 3: Ensure that all remotes to be programmed are available during the appointment, as some systems require erasing and relearning all fobs at once.
  • Step 4: If your vehicle is in operable condition, consider transporting it directly to the service location to potentially reduce service fees.
  • Step 5: Upon arrival, the technician will access the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port to initiate the programming process.
  • Step 6: The new remote fob(s) will be paired to the vehicle using professional software tools.
  • Step 7: After programming, each remote should be tested to verify proper function, including lock, unlock, and trunk release features.
  • Step 8: If additional remotes are needed in the future, repeat this process with all currently active remotes present.
