Programming Guide for 2004 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This model supports onboard programming for standard keyless entry remote fobs using a simple ignition cycle method. All remotes must be programmed during the same session, as any remotes not included will be erased from the system’s memory.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed. Make sure all remote fobs you intend to program are with you before starting.
- Step 2: Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch, but do not start the engine.
- Step 3: Within three seconds, turn the key from the OFF position to the RUN position four times, ending in the RUN position on the fourth turn. Perform this sequence quickly and smoothly.
- Step 4: Wait for confirmation—the door locks will automatically lock and then unlock, indicating the vehicle has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote fob. The door locks will cycle again to confirm successful programming.
- Step 6: If you are programming a second remote, press any button on it within 20 seconds of the previous remote. The door locks will cycle again to confirm it has been accepted.
- Step 7: Repeat Step 6 for any additional remotes, ensuring each is programmed within 20 seconds of the last.
- Step 8: After all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition key to the OFF position. This action exits programming mode.
- Step 9: Remove the key and test each remote to ensure that the lock and unlock functions operate properly.
- Step 10: If any remote fails to work, restart the entire procedure from Step 1, ensuring all timing requirements are followed correctly.
Additional Considerations: Program all remotes in one session. Remotes not included will be removed from the system's memory. Follow timing precisely. Exceeding the time limits may cancel programming mode before completion. Verify remote battery condition. Low battery power may cause the remote to fail during programming.
