Programming Guide for 2004 Mitsubishi Galant Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: Follow the instructions below carefully to program your keyless entry remote fob. Each step must be completed in sequence for the programming to be successful.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, typically to the right of the steering column. This is where you will connect the jumper wire for programming.
  • Step 2: Insert Keys into the Ignition Insert the working key into the ignition and leave it in the OFF position. The ignition must be in the OFF position to start the programming.
  • Step 3: Ensure Metal Contact Pins in Terminals 1 and 4 Ensure that the Data Port has metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4. These terminals must be connected to initiate programming.
  • Step 4: Connect the Jumper Wire Use a suitable jumper wire to connect terminals 1 and 4 in the Data Port. Leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure. Make sure the wire is securely connected.
  • Step 5: Activate the Programming Mode Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times in quick succession. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, indicating that the system has entered programming mode.
  • Step 6: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to program three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm the remote has been successfully registered.
  • Step 7: Test the First Remote Test the remote by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to verify that it works correctly with your vehicle. If the remote doesn’t work, repeat Step 6.
  • Step 8: Program Additional Remotes To program up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes), repeat Step 6 for each remote within one minute. After programming each remote, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm successful registration.
  • Step 9: Test All Remotes After programming, test each remote to ensure that all the remotes work by pressing the lock/unlock buttons.
  • Step 10: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once all remotes have been programmed successfully, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port to exit programming mode.
  • Step 11: Turn the Ignition to OFF Ensure the ignition is in the OFF position after disconnecting the jumper wire.
  • Step 12: Remove Keys from the Ignition Finally, remove the keys from the ignition to complete the programming process. Test all remotes once more to ensure they work correctly.
