Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions for the 2004 Scion xB

Note: This procedure allows you to program the keyless entry functions of your remote fob. A maximum of four remotes can be registered. Carefully follow each step to ensure successful programming.

Step-by-Step Programming Procedure:

• Step 1: Ensure the driver’s door is open and the key is removed from the ignition.
• Step 2: Within 5 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and remove it twice.
• Step 3: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two times.
• Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and remove it again.
• Step 5: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two more times.
• Step 6: Insert the key into the ignition switch and close the driver’s door.
• Step 7: Turn the ignition ON and OFF based on the action you wish to perform: Once to add a remote while keeping all previously programmed remotes. Twice to erase existing remotes and program a new one. Three times to check how many remotes are currently registered. Five times to erase all remotes from memory.
• Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition.
• Step 9: The system will now respond by locking and unlocking the doors: Once, twice, or five times depending on the selected mode. Then, up to four times slowly to indicate how many remotes are currently programmed.
• Step 10: Within 40 seconds, press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously.
• Step 11: Within 3 seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote.
• Step 12: The door locks will: Cycle once to confirm successful programming. Cycle twice if programming was unsuccessful.
• Step 13: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 10 and 11 within 40 seconds for each one (up to four total).
• Step 14: Open the driver’s door to exit programming mode.
