2005 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2005 Buick Allure does not support onboard programming. Smart key remotes must be programmed using specialized diagnostic equipment by a certified technician or authorized dealer.

  • Step 1: Determine whether you're adding a new remote or replacing an existing one. Most systems require all remotes to be programmed during the same session.
  • Step 2: Schedule an appointment with a qualified technician or dealer who has access to the proper equipment for remote key programming.
  • Step 3: Bring all current remotes to the appointment. Remotes not present may be removed from the system during programming.
  • Step 4: If your vehicle is operational, consider driving it to the service location instead of requesting mobile service to reduce programming costs.
  • Step 5: If no functional remotes are available, be prepared to provide valid proof of ownership—such as a title or registration—before service can begin.
  • Step 6: The technician will connect specialized diagnostic equipment to the vehicle’s onboard interface to begin the programming process.
  • Step 7: The new smart key will be electronically registered with the vehicle’s system, enabling full access to locking, unlocking, and ignition features.
  • Step 8: After programming is complete, the technician will test the key fob to verify functionality of all core features.
  • Step 9: Personally test all key fob functions, including lock/unlock, trunk release, and panic alarm, to ensure everything operates correctly.
  • Step 10: If more than one remote is being programmed, each must be added during the same session—typically within a short time window—for proper synchronization.
