Programming Guide for 2005 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – CTS-V
(Professional Equipment Required)
Important Notice: The 2005 Cadillac CTS-V does not support onboard or manual programming methods for remote fobs. All programming procedures must be performed using specialized diagnostic tools by a trained technician.
Remote Fob Programming Process:
- Step 1: Verify that your vehicle requires professional programming and that you have all remotes you wish to use available.
- Step 2: Schedule service with a certified automotive technician or dealer equipped with the proper diagnostic interface for this vehicle.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is drivable, consider bringing it to the service location to reduce costs associated with mobile programming.
- Step 4: At the service center, the technician will connect to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostics system to initiate programming.
- Step 5: Each new remote will be electronically registered to the vehicle using factory-level tools.
- Step 6: Once programming is complete, the technician will verify that all remote functions—such as lock, unlock, and trunk release—are working properly.
- Step 7: If needed, additional remotes can be programmed at the same session, but all existing remotes may need to be present to avoid deactivation.
- Step 8: Confirm all remotes operate as expected before leaving the service location.
