Programming Guide for 2005 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming of keyless entry remote fobs using a timed ignition sequence. All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any remote not programmed during the process will be erased from the system and must be reprogrammed.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Enter the vehicle and close all doors. Ensure you have all remote fobs ready before beginning.
- Step 2: Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch, but do not start the engine.
- Step 3: Within 10 seconds, turn the ignition from the OFF position to the RUN position eight times, ending in the RUN position on the eighth cycle. Perform this action quickly and smoothly.
- Step 4: The door locks will automatically lock and unlock, confirming that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote fob. The door locks will cycle again to confirm successful programming.
- Step 6: If programming a second remote, press any button on it within 20 seconds of programming the first. The locks will cycle again to confirm it has been registered.
- Step 7: Repeat Step 6 for each additional remote, ensuring each is programmed within 20 seconds of the last.
- Step 8: When all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition to the OFF position. The locks will cycle one final time to indicate that the vehicle has exited programming mode.
- Step 9: Remove the key and test each remote fob to verify proper lock and unlock functionality.
- Step 10: If any remote does not operate, restart the entire process from Step 1 and ensure all timing requirements are followed precisely.
Additional Considerations: All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any that are not included will be erased from memory. Timing is critical. Be sure to complete each ignition cycle and remote input within the required time. Check battery strength in each remote before programming to avoid communication failures.
