Programming Guide for 2005 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle is equipped with onboard programming capability for standard keyless entry remote fobs. The programming process must be completed in a single session, and all remotes must be programmed together, as any remote not included during the session will be erased from the system's memory.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors. Make sure you have all remote fobs you wish to program readily available.
- Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition but do not start the engine.
- Step 3: Within 10 seconds, turn the ignition from the OFF position to the RUN position eight times, ending with the key in the RUN position on the eighth cycle. Perform this sequence smoothly and quickly.
- Step 4: After the eighth turn, the door locks will automatically lock and then unlock, confirming that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote fob. The door locks will cycle again to confirm that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 6: If you are programming a second remote, press any button on it within 20 seconds of programming the previous one. The locks will cycle again to confirm that the remote has been accepted.
- Step 7: Repeat Step 6 for any additional remotes, ensuring each is programmed within 20 seconds of the last.
- Step 8: When all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition key to the OFF position. The door locks will cycle once more to signal that the programming mode has ended.
- Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and test each remote to confirm that the lock and unlock functions are working properly.
- Step 10: If any remote fails to function, restart the procedure from Step 1, ensuring the timing between steps is followed exactly.
Additional Considerations: Program all desired remotes during the same session. Any remotes not included will be erased and will no longer function until reprogrammed. Timing is critical. Ignition cycling and remote activation must be completed within the specified time frames to avoid failure. Ensure all remotes have good battery power prior to starting the process, as low battery voltage may interfere with programming.
