Programming Guide for 2005 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: Follow the steps in order to ensure proper programming of your keyless entry remote fob. If the programming does not work as expected, professional assistance may be required.
Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, typically located to the right of the steering column.
- Step 2: Insert the Keys into the Ignition Place the vehicle keys into the ignition and ensure it is in the OFF position.
- Step 3: Ensure Metal Contact Pins and Connect the Jumper Wire Verify that terminals 1 and 4 in the Data Port have metal contact pins. Use an appropriate jumper wire to connect these terminals. Leave the jumper wire in place for the entire programming procedure. Make sure you are familiar with the terminals (1 and 4).
- Step 4: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds after connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, indicating that the system has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to register three times within 10 seconds. Upon successful programming, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm.
- Step 6: Program Additional Remotes If you have additional remotes, repeat Step 5 for each one within one minute. You can program up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes). After each remote is successfully programmed, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm the process.
- Step 7: Test the Remotes After programming, test each remote by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure proper functionality.
- Step 8: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once all remotes are successfully programmed, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port.
- Step 9: Remove the Keys from the Ignition Finally, remove the keys from the ignition to complete the programming procedure.
