Important Notice: Follow these detailed instructions carefully to successfully program your keyless entry remote fob. Each step must be completed in sequence to ensure proper functionality.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, typically located to the right of the steering column. This is where you will connect the jumper wire to begin programming.
- Step 2: Insert the Vehicle’s Key into the Ignition Insert the working key into the ignition and leave it in the OFF position. This is necessary to initiate the programming process.
- Step 3: Check for Metal Contact Pins in Terminals 1 and 4 Ensure that the Data Port has metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4. These pins must be properly connected for the programming process to work.
- Step 4: Connect the Jumper Wire Connect a jumper wire between terminals 1 and 4 in the Data Port. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the entire programming process. Ensure the wire is securely connected to avoid any interruption in the procedure.
- Step 5: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, confirming that the system has entered programming mode and is ready to register the remote.
- Step 6: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to program three times within 10 seconds. After successful programming, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm that the remote has been successfully registered.
- Step 7: Test the First Remote Test the first remote by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure it is functioning properly with your vehicle. If the remote doesn't work, repeat Step 6.
- Step 8: Program Additional Remotes If you have more remotes to program (up to 4 remotes total), repeat Step 6 for each remote within one minute. After programming each remote, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm successful registration.
- Step 9: Test All Remotes Once all remotes have been successfully programmed, test each remote by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure that each remote works properly with the vehicle.
- Step 10: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once all remotes are successfully registered, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port to exit programming mode.
- Step 11: Turn the Ignition to OFF Ensure the ignition is in the OFF position after disconnecting the jumper wire to complete the programming process.
- Step 12: Remove the Keys from the Ignition Finally, remove the keys from the ignition to complete the procedure. Test all remotes once more to verify they are functioning properly.
