Programming Guide for 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: Follow the instructions carefully to program your keyless entry remote fob. Ensure each step is completed in order to guarantee proper programming and functionality.

Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, usually located to the right of the steering column. This is where the jumper wire will be connected.
  • Step 2: Insert Keys into the Ignition Insert the keys into the ignition and leave it in the OFF position.
  • Step 3: Ensure Metal Contact Pins in Terminals 1 and 4 Verify that there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 of the Data Port. These terminals must be connected to initiate the programming process.
  • Step 4: Connect the Jumper Wire Use a suitable jumper wire to connect terminals 1 and 4 in the Data Port. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the entire programming procedure. Ensure the connection is secure.
  • Step 5: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times in quick succession. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, indicating the system is now in programming mode.
  • Step 6: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to program three times within 10 seconds. The doors will lock and unlock once to confirm the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 7: Program Additional Remotes Repeat Step 6 for any additional remotes (up to 4 total). This must be done within one minute for each remote. The doors will lock and unlock once after each successful programming.
  • Step 8: Test All Remotes After all remotes are programmed, test each one by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure they function properly.
  • Step 9: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once all remotes have been successfully programmed, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port.
  • Step 10: Turn the Ignition OFF Make sure the ignition is turned OFF after the jumper wire is removed.
  • Step 11: Remove Keys from the Ignition Finally, remove the keys from the ignition and verify that all remotes are functioning as expected.
