Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions for the 2005 Scion xB

Note: This process programs the remote (keyless entry) functions of your fob. A maximum of four remotes can be registered to the vehicle. Follow the steps below carefully.

Step-by-Step Programming Procedure:

• Step 1: Begin with the driver’s door open and the key completely removed from the ignition.
• Step 2: Within 5 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and remove it two times.
• Step 3: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two times. Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition again, then remove it.
• Step 5: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two additional times.
• Step 6: Insert the key into the ignition and close the driver’s door.
• Step 7: Turn the ignition ON and OFF using one of the following sequences to select your desired programming mode: Once to add a new remote while retaining all previously registered remotes. Twice to erase all existing remotes and register a new one. Three times to check how many remotes are currently registered. Five times to erase all remotes from memory.
• Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition.
• Step 9: The door locks will cycle to confirm the selected mode: Once, twice, or five times depending on the chosen function. Then, up to four times slowly to indicate how many remotes are currently stored.
• Step 10: Within 40 seconds, press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on the remote.
• Step 11: Within 3 seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote.
• Step 12: The door locks will: Cycle once to confirm successful programming. Cycle twice if programming was unsuccessful.
• Step 13: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 10 and 11 within 40 seconds for each one (up to four total).
• Step 14: Open the driver’s door to exit programming mode.
