2005 Subaru Impreza Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Note: Before beginning, make sure any alarm system is disarmed. Up to four remote fobs can be programmed during this procedure.

Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

• Step 1: Open the driver’s door, enter the vehicle, and close the driver’s door behind you. Ensure all other doors are closed.
• Step 2: Within 15 seconds, insert the key into the ignition. Turn the key from the LOCK position to the ON position, then back to LOCK ten times rapidly. Leave the key in the ignition after the final cycle. If successful, the horn will beep once, confirming the vehicle is in programming mode.
• Step 3: Within 45 seconds, continue with the following steps for each remote you want to program:
• Step 4: A. Open and close the driver’s door once. B. Press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote fob. The horn will beep twice to confirm successful programming.
• Step 5: To add more remotes (up to four total), repeat Step 4 for each additional fob. A double horn beep will confirm each successful registration.
• Step 6: Once all remotes have been programmed, remove the key from the ignition. The horn will beep three times, indicating the system has exited programming mode.
• Step 7: Test each remote to verify that locking and unlocking functions work correctly.
