2005 Suzuki XL7 Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

For Vehicles with a Standard Key and Remote Fob (Non-Smart Key System)

Important Note: These instructions apply to models equipped with a traditional ignition key and a separate keyless entry remote. Follow the steps below to enter programming mode and pair your remote(s).

Step-by-Step Procedure:

• Step 1: Remove the key from the ignition switch.
• Step 2: Ensure all doors are completely closed.
• Step 3: Open the driver’s door and leave it open throughout the programming process.
• Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition, turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine), then turn it OFF and remove it — all within 10 seconds.
• Step 5: Within the next 20 seconds, quickly close and open the driver’s door three times.
• Step 6: Reinsert the key into the ignition, turn it to the ON position again, then turn it OFF and remove it — within 10 seconds.
• Step 7: The door locks should automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
• Step 8: Press the UNLOCK button on the remote fob. The locks should cycle again to confirm that the remote has been successfully programmed.
• Step 9: Repeat Step 8 for each additional remote you want to program.
• Step 10: Exit the vehicle, close all doors, and test each remote to verify proper operation.
