2005 Toyota Camry Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Guide
Important Notice: The 2005 Toyota Camry supports onboard programming for keyless entry remotes. The procedure must be followed precisely, and timing is critical. Up to four remotes can be programmed in one session.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Remove the key from the ignition. Open the driver’s door and leave it open. Ensure all other doors are closed and unlocked.
- Step 2: Insert and Remove Key Twice (Within 5 Seconds) A. Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn), then remove it. B. Repeat: Insert the key again (do not turn), then remove it.
- Step 3: Door Cycling and Key Insert (Within 40 Seconds) A. Close, then open the driver’s door. B. Close, then open the driver’s door again. C. Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn), then remove it.
- Step 4: Final Setup (Within 40 Seconds) A. Close, then open the driver’s door. B. Close, then open the driver’s door again. C. Insert the key into the ignition and leave it inserted. D. Close the driver’s door. E. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine), then turn it OFF. F. Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 5: Enter Programming Mode Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should automatically lock and then unlock, confirming successful entry into programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, restart the process from Step 1.
- Step 6: Program Each Remote (Within 40 Seconds Per Remote) For each remote: A. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for 1.5 seconds, then release. B. Immediately press and hold the lock button alone for 2 seconds, then release. C. The door locks should cycle once, confirming successful programming. If the locks cycle twice, the remote was not accepted—repeat steps A and B.
- Step 7: Exit Programming Mode Repeat Step 6 for each additional remote. When all remotes are programmed, open the driver’s door to exit programming mode.
Additional Notes:
- A maximum of four remotes can be programmed to the vehicle. All remotes must be programmed in the same session. Timing is essential. If any part is delayed or skipped, restart from Step 1.
